Record Sales - Dutch Edition
Thanks to special discounts (That mounted up to 10.000€!), Chevrolet Volt sales went through the roof to 479 units (!) enabling the american model to register a whole new sales record and its first monthly #1, as well as a #18 spot in the overall car ranking.
Thanks to this unusual event, a good recovery month for the Opel Ampera (104 units sold, best month since March) and the addition of the Volvo V60 Plug-In numbers, the dutch EV market ended August with a record 948 units sold, easily the best sales month ever, allowing the EV Share to jump to a all-time high of 1,61%.
Looking at the models ranking, despite the sales success, the Volt it's still in fourth YTD, although the distance between it and the first three has been greatly reduced, in the possibility of the Chevy car continuing to sell in the hundreds, the boys in the podium could see their places in danger.
Now that i've got access to the Volvo V60 Plug-In numbers, that model went straight to #2 in the models ranking and considering there's still hundreds of clients waiting for their electric Volvos, it's to be expected that numbers will continue high in the near term.
Further down the ranking, Tesla's Model S climbed three positions to #13, in what is just a warning sign of what it's coming in the future (#4 spot?), considering there's a 1.000-plus waiting list.
In the brands ranking, Volvo is in second with 21% and Chevrolet jumped to fourth with 17%, changing positions with Renault, with GM now representing 36% of the market.
Besides Volvo and Tesla waiting lists, there's also one for the Mitsu Outlander Plug-In, which mounts to the thousands, adding that with the BMW i3 introduction, price drops on the GM twins and changes next year in Government incentives, the end of the year promises to be really hot for plug-ins.
Finally, PHEV's recovered seven points share regarding BEV's, with the market now split 82/18 between them, a world best for PHEV's.
