Volvo: Big in Finland
|
Volvo is on a Roll
Finland has become one of my favorite markets to report, because news are always good, and February was no exception, with 390 PEV's sold, it was up 152% regarding the same month last year, with the PEV Share reaching a record 4.1%.
The 134% YoY progression this year is even more impressive, considering the overall stagnation of the local auto market.
Looking at the models ranking, it's a Volvo-fest, with three models from the Swedish brand in the Top 4, with only the Mercedes GLC350e following the pace of the Swedes.
The hero of the month was again the Volvo XC60 PHEV, grabbing 98 deliveries in February, winning its Fifth(!) consecutive Monthly Best Seller Award, while the just landed new Nissan Leaf also impressed, registering 23 units, the nameplate best result in two years, allowing it to climb to the Top 10 and become the Best Selling BEV.
Looking at the manufacturers ranking, Volvo (37%) is the new leader, with a significant advantage over Mercedes (16%) and BMW (15%), both running for Silver.

4.1% is nice but unfortunately almost no BEV's. Do you know any reason why Finnland favours this technology?
