Record Sales - Norwegian Edition
After a weak July, August sales came to the rescue and with 680 units sold, the Norwegian EV market headed to a new record high, reaching 6% share this month and jumping the YTD EV share to 3,73%.
The unusual fact is that more than 90% of this sales flood came from just two models, one was the sales champion Nissan Leaf, that sold 448 units, just 7 behind its April record, allowing it a great #4 spot in the global ranking, and the second was the Tesla Model S with 185 units, this first real sales month enabled it to jump to third in the YTD sales chart, with the second place already in its sights.
Finally, the Prius Plug-In, best PHEV in the ranking, is just #4 with 3% share, small numbers if we compare them with the success PHEV's have in other scandinavian countries.

No ZOE?!

Nope, at least until December
DeleteZoe doesn't want to let go of its battery leasing scheme and Norway doesn't allow it.
ReplyDeleteIf that's true, then that's another proof that it was wrong for Renault to bet solely on battery renting schemes which, by the way, are not that attractive because they're limited to a limited number of kilometers per year.
DeleteNo wonder that the Leaf is winning over the Zoe in Europe.
This is the case only in Norway, Leaf doesn't offer battery leasing there. Renault does not want to disclose its upfront cost.
DeleteGreat article.Tesla and Elon Musk

Interesting video, Tesla is starting to look like a Pop Culture Icon for cars, a bit like Apple is for the computer industry.
