Will Mercedes have a winner here? |
There's a New Player in Town
Almost 2.000 new EV's found home last month in the Netherlands, slightly above the same month last year, placing the YTD EV Share up to 5.47%, close from the record 5,55% achieved in December '13.
After losing for the Outlander PHEV the Monthly Best Seller Trophy in the two previous months, the Golf GTE (496 sales last month) returned to the Highest Place in the Podium, but beyond these two established players, there is a new player in the top positions: The Mercedes C350e took full advantage from the peculiar incentives in this market and ended in #4 right in its second month of sales, should the teutonic brand produce these cars according to the demand levels, and the Golf GTE and Outlander PHEV will have a serious contender to wage.
A deserved mention for the 70 units of the Ford C-Max Energi, reaching #7 in the monthly ranking, the same position it has got last month in its domestic market.

2 | Audi A3 e-Tron | 253 | |
4 | Mercedes C350e e) | 230 | |
5 | Volvo V60 Plug-In | 224 |
Looking at the YTD ranking, the top positions remain the same, but below the Sixth Place, there are significant changes, the big news was the five positions jump of the Merc C350e (AKA Plug-In Hybrid) to #7, and underlining a great month for Mercedes, the other two offerings also climbed in the chart (S500 up one position to #15 and B-Class up two, to #18), another model with a positive month was the Ford C-Max Energi, climbing two positions to #11.
Looking at the less fortunate models this year, the BMW i3 has been surprisingly losing steam, down five positions regarding last year (It's now #10), the Renault Zoe has also been sliding, it's now #12 and it has registered only 11 units last month, even worse results were those of the Panamera Plug-In (Only two units, is the Cayenne cannibalizing sales?), down six positions to #16.
