Although just #3 this year, the Opel Ampera is still the most common plug-in car here |
New Leader Edition
The Dutch EV market continues on fire, with 1.336 units in September, a new monthly record, jumping the EV share to 1,93%, making it by far the second most popular plug-in market worldwide, just behind the stratospheric performance of Norway.
The sales ranking reflects these changes, with a new leader on YTD chart, with the Volvo V60 Plug-In selling a record 755 units in September, surpassing the Prius Plug-In and claiming the Best Seller crown, while the Renault Zoe climbs one position to #6, at the expense of the stablemate Kangoo ZE.
Another winner is Tesla, selling 170 Model S, winning a #2 position in the monthly ranking and jumping five positions to #8 in the YTD chart.
After the August sellout of the Chevy Volt, the american plug-in is back to the usual low two digit numbers, although with the announced price reduction, sales could pick up again, but if they don't, one might see the Tesla Model S attacking its #4 position by the end of the year.
Volvo also wins the #1 spot in the manufacturers ranking (31%), ahead of GM (30%) and Toyota (22%).

The Volvo PHEV figure seems to be wrong, it was closer to 800, see here:http://www.automobielmanagement.nl/nieuws/marktcijfers-automotive/nid17739-volvo-dik-de-baas-op-nederlandse-ev-markt.html
ReplyDeleteAlso when you compare registrations from August to September (here: http://www.agentschapnl.nl/onderwerpen/duurzaam-ondernemen/energie-en-milieu-innovaties/elektrisch-rijden/stand-van-zaken-0 -> 1,061 vs 1,815) .
Keep to hard work!
I've updated the post with the V60 and Prius numbers, thanks for the tip!
