There was a time when they fought for the leadership, now the Volt is just happy for being in #2... |
Rock Steady Edition
8.605 units were sold last month in the US EV market, a steady 20% increase over the same month last year, putting the EV Share at 0,60%.
Looking at the models ranking, we see the Leaf winning the top spot for the sixth consecutive month (2.088 units), followed by a surprisingly strong Prius Plug-In (1.741 units, best result since last October) and Volt (1.548 units, best result in '14). All this led for the Tesla Model S to drop two positions to #4 in the YTD chart for benefit of the two above (Chevy in #2 and Toyota in #3).
The Ford Energi cousins are still comfortably cruising between the Top 4 and the rest of the pack, while behind them we see the Smart Fortwo ED (203 units, Personal Best Result) pass the Focus Electric and reach #7.
Another model to rise in the chart was the cheeky FIAT 500e, now in #9.
Looking at the brands ranking, Nissan is clearly on top with 24% share, while the race for #2 is close between Ford (#2, with 5.634 units and 18% share), Chevrolet (#3, 5.523 units and 18%) and Toyota (#4, 5.323 units and 17% share).
