Tesla Wins Austria
217 new EV's were registered in Austria last month, up 23% regarding the same month last year.
Looking at the models ranking, the Tesla Model S is the new undisputed king of the EV ranking, with 18% share and 492 units, 23% above the previous record set last year by the Renault Zoe (387 sales).
But what about Tesla's real competition? All of them are still high above the Californian, with the Audi A6 and BMW 5-Series in the four-digit area and the Merc E-Class with double the sales. A lot of room to grown here...
Looking at the remaining front runner seats, this year the Renault Zoe was beaten by the BMW i3 Arch-Rival, which ended in Second.
In the manufacturers ranking, Tesla won its first title (18% Share), with last year winner, Renault, dropping to Third Place (13%), surpassed by Volkswagen, with 14% Share.
Looking into 2016, the growth will continue on a moderate pace, losing ground to neighboring countries (Switzerland...), if the 4.000 units are achieved by 31st December, 2016, it will be considered a good year.

Jose, I know that figures for plug-in hybrids are difficult to come by in Austria. Nevertheless, I found this source that presents the breakdown by type of powertrain, check here: http://www.statistik.at/web_de/statistiken/energie_umwelt_innovation_mobilitaet/verkehr/strasse/kraftfahrzeuge_-_neuzulassungen/index.html

According to the official stats, this is the breakdown for passenger plug-in electric vehicles (pp. 78):
All-electric = 1,677
Plug-in hybrid gasoline-powered = 931
Plug-in hybrid diesel-powered = 170
Total plug-in pax registered in 2015 totals = 2,778, which is quite higher than your figure.
From the same source, a total 308,555 passenger cars were registered during 2015, resulting in a market share of 0.9% (0.69% your estimate), one of the highest in Europe last year.
I became aware of this difference thanks to a graph comparing the market shares of the main European countries here: http://www.kfz-betrieb.vogel.de/wirtschaft/articles/521091/?cmp=nl-125
I hope this helps. Keep the hard work, cheers!
Thanks, i will update the estimates according to the data you have shown.
