Duel for Number Three |
New Addition Edition
A good month for the Swiss EV Market, with 191 sales, with the EV Share rising to 0,76%, thanks to the addition of the Outlander PHEV, which for me was a bit like the "Elephant in the Room", because i imagined that it would sell well in the alpine Switzerland, and effectively it does sell like hot cakes, so much so that it steals the leadership from the Tesla Model S!
Tesla will probably recapture the Top Spot with the AWD Model S (And Future Model X), but until then, Mitsubishi is the Top Dog.
Next Moby Dick to be captured? VW Golf GTE, it should be a sales hit in the power-hungry Switzerland.
In the rest of the ranking, the Nissan Leaf made another good month, selling 16 units, the Opel Ampera had a stock clearance month, selling (probably) their last 11 units available, while the BMW i8 continues to impress, setting another personal record by selling 12 units, securing it another #6 position in the Monthly Ranking and rising one position to #9 in the YTD ranking.

Nice information. thanks for sharing..!
ReplyDeleteSince I sometimes see some Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in the streets, I tried to find some numbers and this came: http://www.aboutfleet.ch/news.php?id=691
ReplyDeleteThey say more than 400 units were solds between December 2013 and October 2014 (which would make it more than half of the Outlander sales)
There are also numbers for 2012 and 2013 for the Smart ED (54 in 2012 and 153 in 2013) and VW E-Up (29 in 2013) in this publication: http://www.agvs.ch/sites/default/files/global_files/20140011_ag_schweizer_fahrzeugmarkt_d.pdf
ReplyDeleteThank you for the precious tips, i expected the Outlander PHEV to succeed in Switzerland, but as didn't had any clue on their sales there, i never mentioned it before.
ReplyDeleteI will update the numbers soon.
Strange to see that the list doesn't make any difference between EVs and Hybrids. Would be interesting to know how many kilometers in a hybrid car are actually driven in pure electric mode - and not again burning oil :-(
ReplyDeleteExisting stats point that lower priced PHEV's (Volt, Energi models...) take more advantage of the electric kms, while higher priced ones (Porsche, etc) use them more rarely.
