UK September 2019 (Draft)

2019 Tesla Model 3 - dynamic rear 3/4 view

Tesla Model 3 shoots to #1

Some 50,000 plug-ins were sold from January up to September this year, down 4% YoY, with the PEV Share now at 2.7% share (1.4% BEV), but expect this market to start growing markedly, now that the Tesla Model 3 has landed and disrupted the market, so a 3% share could be possible, by year end.

Looking at the current models ranking, the Tesla Model 3 took the market by storm, shooting to #1 in only 4 months, and displacing the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV from the leadership for the first time in 500 5 years.

The Nissan model was also down one spot, to 3rd, but for the time being its podium seat is safe, as the following models are some 800 units behind.

The remaining Top 5 positions went for the #4 BMW i3, with the German car maker collecting another presence, in the shape of the 530e sedan, with some 3.000 units.

Not far from these two, the #6 is the Jaguar i-Pace, just 51 units below the big bimmer, so we could see Jag's Sports Crossover reach a Top 5 position soon.

José, I know we have discussed this before, but I don't really remember your reaction.

With the UK and Irish coding the 6-months period of first registration of the car in the license number, does it make more sense to only report sales on these 6-month periods?

Just ignoring the calendar periods but using March-to-August and September-to-February instead.
Hard to relate to the rest of the world, but generating kind of consistent numbers for those islands?
