
- December broke a three year record, by registering 453.000 units;
- With Petrol (-18% YoY) and Diesel (-23%) on the way out, BEVs rose 57% YoY in December, to 28% share, while PHEVs were up 34% to 11% share;
- Looking at the full year numbers, BEVs had a 20% share (29, if we add PHEVs), a significant departure from the 15% share of 2024 (22% if we add PHEVs);

- If the Tesla Model Y retained the Best Seller trophy, behind it, we have two new faces on the 2025 podium, with the Renault 5/Alpine A290 twins in 2nd and the Skoda Elroq in 3rd;

- Looking at the brands ranking, there were also changes, with Volkswagen recovering the Best Seller status, after a 3 year reign from Tesla. BMW and Mercedes followed the Wolfsburg make, in the podium.

Regarding OEMs, the VW Group consolidated its leadership, BMW retained the 2nd spot, while a sliding Stellantis replaced a crashing Tesla on the 3rd spot. Will Geely replace Stellantis in 2026?
