Sweden November 2015

VW Passat GTE Lands With a Bang Edition

The Swedish EV market registered 798 units, up a stratospheric 165% YoY, while also being the third fourth consecutive month of monthly growth.

The EV Share is up again to 2.23%, a new record that places Sweden as the Fifth market with highest percentage of plug-in share, only behind Norway, Netherlands, Iceland and Hong Kong.

The Outlander PHEV (220 units) continues leading the Monthly ranking, something it has been doing since November '13, but below it, a new competitor has arrived and has its headlights set on #1: The Volkswagen Passat GTE landed with 117 units, the best debut month ever for any plug-in model in Sweden, allowing it to shoot straight to #2 in November, will we see the German sedan beat the long-time running leader Outlander PHEV soon?

Also of notice are the 58 units recorded by the BMW i3, its best month yet here, a sign that customer-friendly deals are being made...

Looking at the YTD chart, the Tesla Model S and Nissan Leaf changed positions in the race for #2 and the title of Best Selling Pure Electric Vehicle, with the Japanese now Second, if only by four units.

The Nissan e-NV200 / Evalia had another slow sales month, selling only 7 units, its worst result since January, dropping one position to #9, just like the Renault Zoe, now #8, to the great benefit of the Audi A3 e-Tron, up two positions to #7, thanks to a best-ever result of 47 sales.

On the manufacturers ranking, Mitsubishi continues on top (29%, down 1%), Nissan in Second with 16% (Down 1%) and Volkswagen (13%) recovered the Third Place, thanks to the brilliant landing of the Passat GTE.

    1. Thanks for the input, and regarding EV Shares, Ireland had 2% EV Share in October! But the sales total was just 985 units...
