Austria June 2014

Summertime Records

Another record breaking month in Austria, with 189 units registered, and with the YTD numbers now at 833 units, the all time record (1.193 EV's in 2012) should be reached...by August!.

The bavarian  i3 is still the YTD Best Seller title (190 units), but the french Zoe (185) is in payback mode, recovering 5 units regarding the leader and putting pressure on the i3 ...Will we see any position change in July between these two?

The other performance worthy of mention are the 28 units sold by the Outlander PHEV in its first real sales month, catapulting it to #3 in June and threatening everybody below the VW e-Up! in the YTD ranking.

Switzerland June 2014

...Streching your legs in the garden...

Zoe is Rising Edition

178 EV's were sold last month in Switzerland, with three models representing the bulk of sales:

- The BMW i3 was the third Best Selling EV in June, with 32 units, losing ground to the #2...

- ...Renault Zoe, #2 YTD with 186 sold this year, 40 of them last month (Best result of the year), keeping its runner-up position in the YTD chart. Will this growth continue?

- The winner of the month (62 units), is also the YTD leader (253), the Model S from Tesla is for now the undisputed EV king in Switzerland.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, the race is tight, with Tesla in Second (29% share), just behind the leader Renault (30%) and with BMW (20%) lurking behind these two. Speaking of BMW, the i8 landed with its first two units, given the Swiss taste for high-end performance cars, this should be one of the markets where the german sports car will be most successful.

Germany June 2014

Going to the beach...In an i8-big-daddy-style

One, Two, Three, Germany Edition

After the surprise win of the Outlander PHEV last month, the German EV podium was 100% native in June, with the BMW i3 (210 sales) winning for the fifth time in six months, followed by the VW e-Up! and the Fortwo ED (140 registrations, best result of the year).

Fourth this month and also YTD, the Renault Zoe had its best result in german soil since last October, selling 122 units, allowing it to recover the #4 from the Outlander PHEV.

Good result also for Tesla, selling 102 units, only the second time it reached three digits here.

Italy June 2014 (Updated)

...Enjoying the sun...

"Veni, Vidi, Vici" Edition

The 209 units sold this June make it the best selling month for EV's in Italy this year, placing the EV Share at 0,10%, in line with last years result (0,11%).

In the YTD ranking, the Nissan Leaf jumped from Third to the Leadership, thanks to 34 sales, changing positions with the Smart Fortwo ED.

But the real news is the arrival of the Mitsu Outlander PHEV, selling 43 units in its first month of sales, making it already the best seller of the month, if this level of sales is to continue, the rest of the competition has a big problem to deal with.

France June 2014

Chillin' with your buddies...

It's Getting Hot In Here Edition

The french EV market grew for the fifth month in a row, selling 1.611 units sold, only 205 units below the all-time record of 1.816 units set in March '13.

The Zoe is growing at the same pace of the market, registering 658 units this May (Fifth consecutive sales improvement), the #2 Kangoo ZE (324 sales) it's also on the rise (Fifth consecutive sales improvement, do you see a pattern here?), while the #3 was handed to the usual Nissan Leaf (172 units).

Denmark June 2014

A walk through the countryside...

Model S - 3 Leaf - 3 Edition

Another month above the 100 units for the Danish market (109 registrations), with the YTD numbers at 607 units, which is more than the sales record established in 2012 (590 sales). With six more months yet to go, it looks that EV's will more than double sales regarding last year.

Looking at the models ranking, the Model S recovered the YTD leadership, with another brilliant result (67 sales). The Nissan Leaf will surely reply in July and probably recover the leadership.

Two models are falling below expectations, in June the BMW i3 only sold 5 units and the Outlander PHEV just one, supply problems or lack of demand?
