The Rise and Rise of the Qin Edition
Based on certified data and past performances, the presumed Top 5 goes like this, the BYD Qin continues to impress, selling 1.008 units in May (First time a plug-in sells in the thousands), while the other players post solid numbers, allowing the Chinese EV market to register another sales record (Third in a row), with 2.778 units.
To put it in perspective, this was the second best result of an individual market in May, behind the unattainable USA (12.053 units), but ahead of the Netherlands, third with 1.909 units sold.
A final mention for Tesla, its Model S made it to #5 thanks to the 532 units sold in May, and the April numbers are still missing...

How about Japan? They are normally number 2, not so in May?
ReplyDeleteHow about Norway?
DeleteNorway sold some 1.500 in May, while i can say with 80% certainty that Japan won't surpass the 2.000 units (I'm still waiting for the Leaf numbers).
DeleteHow is that link more informative? We need the April and May data, your link shows only Q1.
ReplyDeleteit's not right. Where is Tesla Model S with 1000+ in May?
ReplyDeleteI don't have any information on Tesla chinese performance in April/May, if you could link the source for those 1000 units, i would appreciate it.
DeleteThanks for updating! The link is useful. It says "However, in May it only imported 532 cars into China.". So, I think those 532 will mostly be delivered during June-July. It's not clear how many they delivered in May. But thanks for trying to dig this out!
