Zoe ZE40 pulls market up
The French EV passenger car market had 2.822 registrations last month, up 12% YoY, with the EV Share now at a record 1.9%, above the 1.7% of 2016.
The main reason for the positive numbers is the mass delivery of the 40 kWh version of the Renault Zoe, up 32% regarding the same month last year, leaving the remaining competition in the dust.
Will these new sales levels continue throughout the year or are they just the consequence of the novelty factor? To be answered in the following months...
In the remaining February top positions, besides the usual Nissan Leaf (#2, with 277 units) and Peugeot iOn (#5, 112), two German models excel: The BMW i3 broke its personal record, by registering 172 units, while the recent Mercedes GLC350e recorded 113 units, a personal best for the three-pointed-star SUV, could this be the breakout model for the Stuttgart brand?

In a market known for its stability, a podium change is always eventful, in this case the 33-kWh-boosted BMW i3 displaced the ageing Peugeot iOn from Third Place, while the #6 Mercedes GLC350e took the Best Selling PHEV & SUV titles away from the Volvo XC90 PHEV.
In what can only be considered as a good month for Mercedes, the C350e model also deserves a mention, jumping nine positions to #17, thanks to 32 sales, its best result ever in France.

In the brands ranking, Renault (54%) continues to be the Master In Command, followed at a distance by BMW (9%) and Nissan (7%).

ReplyDeleteAny FCV on the list? Is Toyota Mirai available in France?
ReplyDeleteThere were a couple of Mirai registered in France last year, but none in 2017.

ReplyDeleteWe can see 3 differences with your table which is not equal to out avere-france.org
- Bmw i3 are 78 BEV + 94 REX
- Hyundai ioniq e = 12 (49 total)
- Volkswagen golf gte = 12 (25 in total)
A correction needed?
I also have a question: Renault Zoe = 1565 registrations.
This figure included the "utility" Zoe 65 or does til say 1565 VP and 65 "utility" extra?
Thank you for your very interesting site.
Thanks, have updated the data!
DeleteRegarding the Zoe, the 1565 units are all passenger cars.
