Zoe ZE40 pulls market up
The French EV passenger car market had 2.699 registrations last month, up 45% YoY, with the EV Share starting the year at 1.8%, already above the 1.7% of 2016.
This sales surge is due to the mass delivery of the 40 kWh version of the Renault Zoe, up 125% regarding January 2016, leaving the remaining competition in the dust.
The question now is, will these new heights, reaching #28 in the general ranking and representing 6% of all Renault sales, be something to maintain throughout the year or just a consequence of the novelty factor. To be answered in the following months...
The remaining podium positions go for two veterans, the Nissan Leaf and Peugeot iOn, closely followed by the BMW i3 and Kia Soul EV.

In a market known for its stability, the 13 registrations of the VW Golf GTE, #6 and Best Selling PHEV last year, stands out as being its worst result ever, will this be a mere blip linked to the current restyling or something more significant?
In the brands ranking, Renault (61%) continues to be the Master In Command, followed at a distance by BMW (8%) and Nissan (5%).

ReplyDeleteTank you for all your data. I just want to inform you that the official association Avere count the "Ligier Pulse 4" into its data for light commercial vehicules. This model has reach the 2nd place in France in 2016, but does not appear in your ranking. It looks similar to the Goupil G3, so it seems pertinent to add them.
