On an off month for the US EV market, with 6.744 units sold, staying below the 7.000 units threshold for the first time since February, some models deserve mention, the Prius Plug-In reached #3 in the monthly ranking, it's best ranking since February, the Chevrolet Spark EV reached 103 units in its second sales month and the Fiat 500e landed with a bang, selling 150 units, reaching #7 in the monthly ranking and it's already ahead YTD of its main competitor, the Spark EV. Not bad for a debut month...
For a brand that's reluctant in investing in EV's, Fiat has quite a success in its hands, making one wonder why aren't they more enthusiastic about it, after all, having a cute, fun-to-drive, reasonable priced city car is something that their competitors could only dream about, and yet they hesitate...But i digress.
In July, the subcompact EV king was the 500e, but the Spark EV is just waiting around the corner to take the crown away from the Italian rival.
