This is what an EV Concentration looks like in Ireland |
The Good Son Edition
The highly seasonable Irish EV market is growing steadily, with YTD sales up 24%, thanks to an unusually high February, with 147 units, beating the previous sales record of 141 units, set in January 2015.
The main culprit for this result was once again Ireland's Adoptive EV, the Nissan Leaf, the 119 units registered last month represent a new all-time record for a single model in this market, improving on the 105 sales already registered by Nissan's hatch in January '15.
The Leaf seems poised to collect this year its Fifth Best Selling EV title, after those won in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015, a feat that would be unrivaled in the world.
As for the other models in the market, the numbers are rather small, with the Volvo XC90 PHEV receiving a warm welcome and Tesla already beating its own (Admittedly small) sales record in Irish lands.
