Nissan Leaf #1
The Icelandic EV market started the year with over 100 newplug-ins sold in the First Quarter, 21% above the same period last year, so the prospects for the rest of the year are optimistic.
Looking at the models ranking, the Nissan Leaf is back at the leadership, running ahead of the PHEV pack (Golf GTE, Outlander PHEV and Volvo XC90 T8) that is chasing the Best Seller title.
The aforementioned picture makes Iceland another market where plug-in hybrids are on the rise (49% share vs 36% in 2015), something which isn't strange to the fact that there are many more to choose from and in different sizes...
Looking at the remaining models, the Kia Soul EV is not fulfilling the expectations created by the good performance in the last months of 2015, something that can also be said by the VW e-Golf, leader last year and now in a discrete #5.
In the manufacturers ranking, Volkswagen (30%) continues in the lead. followed by Nissan (24%) and Mitsubishi (17%).

What is the percentage of total sales for March and for the full year so far?
ReplyDeleteIs it above 5%?
Last year Iceland total: 14.004 cars
ReplyDeleteLast year Iceland March: 626 cars
if the market stayed constant the 43 units sold would be 6.8% of marketshare.
