Nissan Leaf #1
The Icelandic EV market ended May with 234 new plug-ins, 58% above the same period last year, with last month alone being responsible for 83 units, an all-time record for a single month.
Looking at the models ranking, the Nissan Leaf still holds on to the leadership, running ahead of the PHEV pack (Golf GTE, Passat GTE, Outlander PHEV and Volvo XC90 T8), all chasing the Best Seller title.
The aforementioned picture makes Iceland another market where plug-in hybrids are on the rise (53% share vs 36% in 2015), something which isn't strange to the fact that there are many more to choose from and in different sizes.
Looking at the remaining models, the Tesla Model S is not fulfilling the expectations, currently it only has one unit registered, against the 7 in the same period of 2015, are people waiting for the Model X?
In the manufacturers ranking, Volkswagen is on the same pace as last year, leading (33%, up 1%) comfortably, followed by Nissan (20%, down 5%), the japanese automaker is suffering from the shift to PHEV's, something that the Third Placed Mitsubishi (14%, up 3%) can't really complain.
