Spain July 2017

Image result for renault Zoe in Spain

BMW i3 is the new King

The EV market in Spain continues boiling hot, with plug-ins up an impressive 141% in July, to 608 units, pulling the yearly tally to 3.096 units.

The main change on the YTD ranking was the BMW i3 recovering the leadership from the Renault Zoe, while the rise and rise of the Tesla Model S seems unstoppable, having climbed to #7, its highest standing ever and a stark departure from last years #21.

But it wasn't only Tesla bearing brilliant results, the Mini Countryman PHEV jumped to #11, being by far the Best Selling Rookie, while the VW e-Golf once again broke its personal record (29 units), climbing to #17.

On the manufacturers ranking, the leader BMW (22%, donw 1%) holds steady, while the Second Placed Renault (12%, down 2%) and Third Place Nissan (10%, down 1%) both lose share.

  1. Aren't you a little exaggerating here? 608 EV's in July, in a market of 109.948 is not really boiling hot, it is just 0,6%. And the performance of Tesla, 199 cars sold in 7 months is almost nothing in a market of 777.442 cars. The model S being unstoppable is hilarious, even Maserati sells more than both Tesla models together.

    1. It is boiling hot because of the growth, not absolute numbers... guess you are new to this site

    2. The market isn't EV friendly but you should put it in perspective and last year it was sold 4603 ev in Spain so it's growing a lot. Even if Tesla isn't selling a lot it's still way better then 46 Model S and 9 Model X last year. If you look on the EV alone Model S have rise from place 21 last year to now 7.

  2. 60 Teslas/600Evs is 10% EV market share!!!! I think this is maximum and minimus, becose model 3 is coming to change everything getting first place.

    1. You're right, the E350e is in #26, while the C350e is #30.

      Bug corrected.
