Nissan Leaf Shines in record month
The Romanian PEV market is on fire, with August hitting a new record(!), with 270 units being registered, with the 1.2% share of last month representing a new record, allowing the 2019 share to jump to 1%.
As you might have noticed, all 10 models from this ranking are BEVs, a consequence of BEVs representing 91% of all plugin sales, making this one of the most BEV-firendly markets anywhere.

The Renault Zoe is leading the way, ahead of the Nissan Leaf and the BMW i3, with these last two scoring record performances in August, so the French hatchback could be overthrown in the coming months by its Japanese relative.
Volkswagen is gaining ground, thanks to the rising VW e-Golf, that hit a record 32 deliveries last month, while the Jaguar i-Pace joined the Top 10, making this a 100% Top 10.
In the manufacturers ranking, Renault is ahead, with 22% share, closely followed by Nissan (21%) and Volkswagen (15%).

I think this is the first time I see an all blue ranking (top 10) in any if your posts.
ReplyDeleteAccording to my memory, it is also the first time this happens.

This is because the romanian gouvernement is offering 10K euro to those who want to bay electric cars. So the numbers may grow by a large margin once tesla officially enter romanian market later this year, as Elon promised
DeleteAh, I was wondering about Tesla opening in Romania while skipping several neighbours on the way... 10,000 Euro incentive is certainly a good reason ;-)
DeleteAccording to your previous post on Romania, YoY growth is 155%.
ReplyDeleteIt was red hot last year, it is red hot this year.
While the numbers are still small, the growth is phenomenal.
Yep!
DeleteNot that small actually... We got spoilt now -- but not long ago, 1.1% BEV share would have been considered an excellent result in almost any market.
DeleteThese numbers are still before Tesla officially entered Romania, right? Will be interesting to see how much they change in the near future :-)
