Tesla Model 3 and Skoda Superb PHEV make themselves noticed

The PEV Market in Czech Republic is back on track (+29% YoY), with over 1.000 units sold this year, with the PEV Share stable up to 0.5%, with October reaching 0.7%.

If BEVs were winning the upper hand this year, the end of summer signaled a return of PHEVs, with this technology representing 54% of registrations last month, versus 33% year to date.

This is evidenced by the thunderous landing of the Skoda Superb PHEV, that in its first full month of deliveries, it registered 21 units, winning the October Best Seller trophy. Expect the local hero to win a lot of these awards from now on...

Looking at the 2019 models ranking, the Nissan Leaf is ahead, but the BMW i3 is close, so the 2019 trophy is still undecided, but it is outside the podium that things are more interesting, with the #4 Hyundai Ioniq Electric and #5 Tesla Model 3 jumping positions, as they prepare to assault the 3rd spot, currently in the hands of the VW e-Golf.

A special mention for the 14 deliveries of the Californian, a new record in this market, and it was achieved in the first month of the quarter, so expect December to be a big month for the midsize sedan.

In the brands ranking, Hyundai is now in the lead, with 17% share, followed by Nissan, with 15%, and BMW (14%).

  1. Hi Jose, I actually think the Skoda CITIGOe iV will do much better than the Skoda SUPERB PHEV and lift the Czech EV market up massively next year

  2. I wonder, is Tesla already delivering cars through the new official presence -- or are these still only cars imported independently?...

    1. Tesla will start official deliveries next year. So far is everything individual import.

But Citigo iV has already sold more than 500 units with deliveries starting in January.
