Belgium June 2015

Top Dogs in Belgium

Dynamic Duo Edition

With 483 EV's sold, this was yet another record month in Belgium, with YoY sales up 140% and the EV Share rising again to 0,84% (Also record numbers), will we see it pass the 1% barrier by year end? I wouldn't bet against it.

The main reason for this record were the top two models, the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Cayenne Plug-In, both registering record performances (159 units for the first, 121 for the second), with the american car setting a new all time high for monthly sales of a single model.

But they weren't the only to shine, the Mercedes B-Class ED sold a record 12 units, jumping three positions to #14, while the little VW e-Up! changed positions with the Merc, dropping from #14 to #17. Maybe it's time for the german carmaker to give a haircut on the e-Up! high price...

In the manufacturers ranking, Porsche continues to lead (23%), followed Tesla (21%) and BMW, with 16%.

  1. It's a bit sad that in such a small country so many people are still to scared to go full electric, even thought the infrastructure is quite dense. It's really no problem to go all electric people!

    1. Country size doesnt matter if you also drive outside your country regularly

    2. Of course not, but there are vastly more people in Belgium who don't do that than ones that do. And most surrounding countries have good charging infrastructure. I go to the UK, Netherlands and Germany with my ZOE every year.
