The Leaf continues to be Miss Popularity in Spain |
Autumn Leafs Edition
183 ev's were sold in Spain last month, which is a 80% increase regarding the same month last year, pulling the EV Share to 0,14%, not that distant from the 0,18% of last year, so this could be still a positive year for plug-ins here, let's see how the rest of the year goes.
The Nissan Leaf sales were hot, with 68 registrations, the best performance by any model this year and the best result for the japanese hatch since last October (80 units were sold then), and allowing Nissan to recover some of the lost ground to its Alliance partner Renault (28% share vs 31% from Renault).
The Renault Zoe was Second Best last month (35 units), with both the BMW i3 and Mitsu Outlander PHEV third, with 20 registrations.
Looking at the YTD table, the Number Two Renault Twizy is being chased by the i3 and Zoe, while the Outlander PHEV is the undisputed king of plug-in hybrids, and #5 in the chart.
At the middle of the ranking, Tesla is still to find its place here, it's only #9 and it's even behind the Panamera Plug-In, probably Tesla's brand perception is a weak point here, something that the successful BMW i8 can't complain, will we see it passing those two until the end of the year?

Final mention for the six units registered by the BYD e6, most certainly a fleet deal

Once Tesla opens its FIRST store in Spain I am sure Model S sales will surpass those of the Panamera Plug-in.
