Switzerland September 2014

These things are selling quite well in Switzerland...

BMW Continues To Impress

In an average sales month (123 sales), BMW was again the best selling manufacturer, with 37 units, while the i3 lost for Tesla the Best Selling EV of the month by just two units, the i8 sports car had another brilliant performance, selling an additional 7 units.

In the rest of the ranking, the I-Miev sold 13 units, its best result since June '13, and is now pressuring the Nissan Leaf for the #5 position.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, the top three are running closer and closer, with the leader Renault (28%) losing ground to Tesla (27% share) and BMW (24%).

  5. My Swiss source doesn't break down sales by fuel source, that's why i don't have numbers from models like the e-Golf, e-Up! or the Outlander PHEV.

Currently the know EV Share is at 0,59%, but the real EV Share (With the aforementioned models) must be higher, 0,70% or more.

  6. Japan market info : According to this recent article
    http://bmwi3.info/?p=221
The first 500 models of BMW i3 sold in Japan have been recalled for technical glitch on the EME software.
Also last month (September) we had our first delivery of the 1st BMW i8 in Japan
    http://bmwi3.info/?p=209

Based on the info above we can conclude that we have +500 i3's in Japan by the end of September and at least one model of i8.

    Hope this helps. Cheers !
