BMW i3 #1
Poland is by far the largest automotive market in Eastern Europe, with over 500.000 units on a yearly basis, but regarding plugins, it is lagging behind, but nevertheless, with some 1.600 units sold in the first 9 months of 2019, it is up 66% YoY, with its PEV Share now at 0.4%.
Looking at the models ranking, after losing the Best Seller title for two years in a rown (2017 and '18) title to the Nissan Leaf, the BMW i3 is once again in the lead, almost doubling the registrations of the Second Placed Kia Niro PHEV, although the German hatchback had a little help from a certain car-sharing company to get back at the leadership...
Elsewhere, the previous leader is down to Third Place, having seen its sales drop by 29% YoY in a fast growing market (auch!)
Outside the podium, we have two other BEVs, the Renault Zoe and the Audi e-Tron(!), highlighting the increasing share of BEVs (70% this year) on the market, thanks to the crash of PHEVs (-11% YoY), while BEV sales are jumping through the roof (+162%!).
The Manufacturers trophy has BMW with 44% share, so we can also consider that the 2019 is in the bag of the Bavarian, as the #2 Kia has only 22%.
In 4th we have an entertaining race, with Renault, Audi, Jaguar and Tesla all with 4% share, currently with the advantage is going for the French carmaker, but with 7 units separating all four, anything can happen until December.

I'm confused: shouldn't Nissan be in third spot among brands; and the close race you mentioned actually for fourth place?...
ReplyDeleteEither way, with Tesla having opened Model 3 orders recently, I'd assume they will pull way ahead in that race -- and should even have a good chance of making it to that same spot in the model ranking as well?...
You're right, i have corrected it.
DeleteRegarding Tesla in Eastern Europe, i am curious to see how that rolls out.
