Netherlands October 2014

Roller Coaster IV - Going Down

The Dutch EV market returned to the negative trend, last month there were 953 registrations, dragging down the EV Share to 3,90%.

Looking at the monthly models ranking, the Outlander PHEV collected another Best Seller trophy, with 471 units, followed by the usual Runner-Up, the Volvo V60 Plug-In.

After these two, there's an enormous difference to the #3 Nissan Leaf (36 units), followed by the Tesla Model S, which sold only 27 units, and in #5 we have the Renault Zoe, with 25 registrations.

Looking at the YTD ranking, that now has accurate numbers (Dank U Annie), the first positions continue the same, but further down the table, there is one car jumping positions, the BMW i8 sold 14 units (#7 in October, behind its little brother, the i3), it is now #12, but the #10 spot looks possible until the end of the year.

Hybrids and plug-ins Ranking - Toyota and the others

Combining hybrids sales with those of plug-in vehicles, the Outlander PHEV continues leading, althought followed more closely by the Toyota Auris Hybrid, in this Top 10 there's 5 HEVs, four from Toyota Group, which can be seen with two approaches:

The positive one says that Toyota doesn't have opposition in the Hybrid front;

The negative one says that currently, only Toyota is investing in this kind of technology, while others are now into plug-ins.
