Must...Resist...The...Ioniq...

The Irish PEV market is known for the popularity of the Nissan Leaf, a five times (2011/12/14/15/16) winner of the Best Selling throphy, but this year the Hyundai Ioniq is proving to be hard to beat, add the upcoming generation change, and the Japanese hatchback has lots of sticks and stones to overcome and renew the Best Seller title. 

Still, Nissan's model managed to recover the leadership in October, thanks to 14 deliveries, but with two months to go, a lot can still happen.

This two horse race is helping the local PEV market to grow, with YTD sales up 33% to 882 units, with the EV share now at over 0.6%, a new record.

Below the podium places, Tesla is benefitting from the official arrival in Ireland, having registered 46 units so far this year, a far cry from the 13 registrations made in previous years, with the Model S rising to Sixth and the Model X to #11.

Another model climbing in the ranking is the successful BMW 530e, now Seventh and new Best Selling Rookie, while the Volvo XC60 PHEV landed recently and is already #18.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, Nissan is slightly ahead of Hyundai (Both with 26% share), while BMW is a comfortable Third, with 18% share, far ahead of Renault and Tesla, both at 6% share and running for Fourth Place.
