BMW i3 Charges On , VW e-Golf #1
Last month, 95 plug-ins were sold in New Zealand, pulling the year result to 193 units and placing the PEV Share above the all-important 1% threshold, at 1.1% a new record.
Looking at the models ranking, the leadership is in the hands wheels of the usual Best Seller, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, but this time it is tied with the VW e-Golf, that thanks to a record 23 deliveries in January, started the year with a bang.
The Tesla Model S is in the last place of the podium, with 23 registrations, immediately followed by the BMW i3, with 22 units, 16 of them in February, can the German Hot Hatch continue to impress in the following months?
Besides the i3, there was another surprise result in February, with the Kia Niro PHEV registering 10 units in its first full sales month, a promising result for the Korean Crossover, will it be able to dispute the Outlander PHEV reign in this market?
In the Manufacturers ranking, there is a surprise, with Tesla leading the pack, with 18%, while the seven times Best Selling Manufacturer Mitsubishi is tied in Second Place with Volkswagen, both with 15% share, and BMW (14%) is on the lookout for an opportunity to join the podium.
Nice work Jose, Go NZL you have the clean power to do this.
