Iceland, EV Champion
It's not only in football (Or soccer for those across The Pond) that Iceland has something to teach to much larger nations, the Icelandic plug-in market has the Third highest EV share in the World, with 3%, ending July with 400 new plug-ins, 93% above the same period last year, with last month alone being responsible for 96 units, a new all-time record.
Looking at the models ranking, the Nissan Leaf holds on to the leadership, with 75 units, running ahead of a PHEV pack (Outlander PHEV, Passat GTE, Golf GTE and Volvo XC90 T8), all trying to reach the 2014 & 2013 Best Seller Nissan Leaf.
Looking at the remaining models, BEV's are selling below expectations, with the VW e-Golf in particular down significantly, having registered half of what had sold last year by this time. A case of internal competition from the GTE relatives?
In the manufacturers ranking, Volkswagen is on the same pace as last year, leading (31%) comfortably, followed by Nissan (21%) and the Third Placed Mitsubishi (13%).

The slowdown of e-Golf could also be related to the new version comming in autumn.
