Kia has just joined the fastest growing EV market in the world |
Nissan Takes the Crown Edition
Iceland continues to impress, ending the year with a record 204 units, up from just 72 in the previous year, 18 in 2012 and none in the year before that...The EV Share jumped yet again to 2,71%, which makes me wonder if some of these sales aren't imports...If anyone has an insight on this, i would appreciate more details on it.
Nissan consolidated the leadership won in 2013 with the Leaf, increasing its share from 40% then to an amazing 64% in 2014, not only the Leaf increased its leadership (Now with 54% Share), but the e-NV200 / Evalia took the Third Place, making this market one of the most successful for the japanese brand.
In Second we have the rookie Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, while behind it, the Tesla Model S ended in a somewhat disappointing #4, the AWD versions will probably be a welcome addition for the american car here.
Looking into 2015, i would imagine that the explosive growth could continue, maybe reaching 500 units and an EV Share of over 5%, which could place it in the Top 3 markets regarding this item.
